Residual plot

The residual plot is automatically shown or hidden when you open or close the peak table window, using the ‘Peak fitting→Peak table...’ menu option. You can also manually show or hide the residual plot using the ‘Options→Show residual’ menu option, shown below:

With the ‘show residual’ option enabled, a small plot of the fitting residuals will be displayed at the top of the spectrum view window, as shown below.

The residual will display a large non-zero value in regions where the quality of fit is poor between the measured spectrum and the peaks defined in the peak table.
